The Make a Wish Portrait Special

Posted by cindy in weddingpersonalotherlifestyle portraitsengagement

...I'm not sure what happened first, the tear carving a slow and steady path down my cheek towards an already splatter marked corner of my desk or the realization that most of the places that these children who are suffering with life threatening illnesses were "wishing" to see, I had already seen.  A movie premier, a show, Disney, Hawaii, Jamaica...  The list goes on and on.  Moments like this snap me back into reality and it's hard to convey the humble feelings that I have and the overwhelming gratefulness towards charities.

That's why for this Holiday Season I am teaming up with my friends and fellow photographers Mark Gardner of Mark Gardner Photography and Nicole Polk of Nicole Polk Photography for our Make A Wish Portrait Promo!!!

Help Make a difference for a child in the Philadelphia/Susquehanna Valley area.
The Deal.... For the First 8 clients to contact either one of us and book a portrait/holiday/Baby /any reason session at the reduced rate of $250 you get ::::::Drum Roll ::::::

  • $250 includes - Session Fee
  • travel within the Greater Philadelphia Area and some parts of De, NJ
  • your names added to the list of donors
  • DVD of 25 high res images - with a usage release (use for gifts,holiday cards etc..)
  • online proofing and hosting for 90 days
  • 100% of the cost will be donated directly to The Make A Wish Foundation- Philadelphia/Susquehanna Valley Chapter
  • you may get one, two or even all 3 of us depending on availability
That's right folks!  100 percent donation baby!  I've done a ton of research on charities and I'm happy to say that this chapter of the Make a Wish foundation has received a 4 star ranking which is the highest that you can receive and they are among only 5% of the charities rated to receive this rating for 5 consecutive years.  The rating means a lot to me because it confirms that the charity exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in its Cause.  A large portion of the funds collected actually go towards the cause they represent and that is huge!

So contact us now to book your session - limited availability

Puppy Spa Day {personal}

Posted by cindy in personal

Baby and Lilli look like ragamuffins.  Actually, I have never seen a ragamuffin so maybe they don't look like one but they are in dire need of a good bath, teeth brushing, nail trim and haircut.  So off to the groomers we go!  They absolutely hate going to the groomer.  They are little and always get attention no matter where we go but they get really scared if I'm not the one trimming them up.  Unfortunately you can only give mommy bowl cuts number 1 and 2 so many times before you need a professional to do it.  Here are the before and afters =)

Lilll feels pretty much the same way about spa day before and after she went...

Hangin' with my Homies {personal}

Posted by cindy in personal

The phone rings and I look at who's calling, it's my momma.  "Cindy, what time do you want me and daddy to come over?"  Hmmm, well...  I am totally not a morning person.  Could it be because I quite frequently work until the wee hours of the morning and my "morning " starts around 10:30 - 11:00 am.  You betcha!  So I say how bout 12:00, that's safe.  I have an appointment to take my car in and then I'll be home in time to chill for a bit.

We do some grilling, celebrate my mom's recent birthday and I decide that duh, I should take some pictures.  Getting everyone outside to do this is a task in and of itself.  I'm screaming come on, the light is perfect...  We are losing the light, let's go!  Kristin has my dad sucked in to watching Donnie Darko parts one and two and a couch potatoing they are going.  I knew I should have fed them after I snapped a few.  Finally I wrangle everyone outside and the light was in fact perfect.  I decided to snap a few of my parents together.  I think they are so cute.  It's funny because they have this whole fake bicker at each other back and forth way of communication.  Underneath that facade is a beautiful relationship and after almost 40 years they still adore each other as much if not more than when they first met.  The sun is setting and we are all laughing because no one seems to want to cooperate with my line of direction - cuz you know I don't do this like 4-5 days a week all year long or anything.  Regardless,  I still think we got some keepers =)

  Grand mother and grand daughter laughing at me!  I love it!

 A few of Kristin to finish out the session.  I just love the way that the sun streaks and flares through the trees oh and of course my baby looks beautiful.

I'm a B-A-D Blogger! { =)~ }

Posted by cindy in weddingpersonalotherlifestyle portraitsengagement

Okay, so obviously we all know this by now since the dates from my latest blogs are still showcasing 2008 events and clients...  My name is Cindy and I am a Bad, no how about Awful or even late, let's just make it utterly behind blogger...  As much as I try to keep things in  "real time,"  I am too greedy with the amount of client's stories or things that I want to blog so the back-up ensues.  Therefore I am hereby naming today Time Machine Tuesday!  Yeah, so what, it's not officially Tuesday for another 2 hours but I couldn't think of anything that went well with Monday so Tuesday it is ;)

We are time jumping to real time in an effort to keep it real.  Don't worry though, you will see some missing blogs surfacing here and there just because I loved them so!  Besides, it's my blog and I will be late if I want to.   I struggle with how many to blog, which ones to blog how can I not blog this, yaddy, yaddy, yaddy.  I can not blog every wedding, e-Session, portrait or event but once a week I will subject you to a little somethin-somethin.

Thanks to ALL OF YOU out there in blogland who come and visit me here.  Thanks to you for sending your friends and family to visit and most of all thanks for being the absolute best clients that I could dream of and let's not forget...Thank you for laughing with me or at me when I say my cornball things cuz I really am funny, no seriously I am right?  I captured some of my all time favorite images in 2008 and I can't wait to see what 2009 will bring!  So check back often and don't forget to comment the blogs or images that you love!  Hopefully my strung along words attached to images can tug at something meaningful to you.  I know that for me I have run the gamut of emotions and together we have laughed, cried, danced, gotten misty eyed and most importantly, rocked it out!

You Saved the Day! {Personal}

Posted by cindy in personal

So we all know that it snowed and although I thought it wasn't a whole lot, it was enough to close schools and send the masses out to buy up all the rock salt in the tri-state area.  I tried working from home but that never really works out.  You see, the puppies not only have attachment issues but are both in constant competition with each other for my attention and unfortunately for me the most common game is who can sit closest to my throat.  Yeah, real fun... NOT!  So imagine, laptop and two pint sized dogs on my lap,  climbing on top of each other to be the one that is highest , then when there is no room left to go Lilli, who is the Alpha Yorkie, chases Baby off.  They run around like maniacs then pounce on me & repeat climbing.  No good...  I pack up my external drives, dig out my car, shovel the drive and head to the studio for some peace and quiet.

 I wasn't having a particularly good day.  Sometimes I wonder if my extra efforts go unnoticed.  I still edit each and every image individually, still create every album without templates and I still correspond with every client personally.  It's time consuming and often takes me away from the task at hand but I really feel that we are at times a society that has become very depersonalized.   I for one like to feel like I am providing a service that offers more...

So I finish a Wedding and head to the gym for my Monday night Yoga Class - You guessed it!  Yoga is cancelled and the gym is closed.  Umm okay...  Go back to the studio, nearly fall on my ass on the sidewalk outside of studio - note to self, no more rock salt left in the tri-state area.....  Continue editing till about 10:00 pm.  Then I fight with Kristin about the perils of other people driving her car and how they shouldn't go on a road trip tonight with the weather and lack of driving experience....  I'm angry and frustrated so I pack up my stuff and head out.

I'm ready to write the day off when I check my email for the last time tonight and the day was saved =)  Here are a few excerpts from 2 emails I received.

"Hi Cindy---thanks so much for an unbelievable job with our pictures---now what!?! I mean I know we need to pick, but how many do I get---we have a 40 page book-right?? ..Oh, and your packaging is SOO cute too!! I love LOVE LOVE you! "

"Cindy!  can i just tell you that i had a really crappy day today, and then i got your dvd in the mail.  i am SO happy!  the day that i walked into your studio in center city i knew there was a connection, but you honestly are the best decision i made regarding wedding planning!  even though we had bad weather and i was so concerned about the photos...you really came through.  everything is just so beautiful.  anyways, i just wanted to say thank you for making an awful day fantastic.  **hugs**"

Sometimes all any of us really needs is a little affirmation so thank you both so much for taking the time to brighten my day and helping me to end it with a smile!

There will be tons of cool stuff coming soon!  Featured Sessions uploaded to galleries to show images from current shoots, video's, newsletters and big tasty images Oh My!  Until then, thanks for viewing and make sure to comment on any images when you feel the urge so I can feel the love!
